As a young girl, Prachi asked a simple question - What can I do about climate change?

Prachi spent a year travelling across India, covering stories of youth, farmers, and waste-picker communities, to understand the impact of climate change in day-to-day lives of people.  Then she began mobilising citizens to tackle climate change through technology, advocacy and grass-root action. Today, her app for climate action - Cool The Globe is used by over 1,00,000 citizens from 150 countries. In this talk, she talks about her journey of building a citizen-led app and a movement for climate action and the miracles that can happen when citizens unite to bring about a change.

Prachi Shevgaonkar is a Climate Entrepreneur and the founder of Cool The Globe - An app and a movement for climate action with users from 110+ countries.

Prachi has been awarded by the finance minister of India as the 'Young Change-maker of the year.'Prachi is the first Indian citizen to be appointed on the advisory board of Climate Leadership Coalition, alongside the former Prime Minister of Finland. She was selected by the Ministry of Environment, UNICEF & UNDP to represent India at COP27 climate summit in Egypt, where she received COP27 Young Scholar Award from the Hon. Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. Recently, Prachi featured in Google India's campaign inspired by her story of building Cool The Globe App.Prachi spent months covering stories of youth, farmers, and waste-picker communities, to understand the impact of climate change in day-to-day lives of people. She has been mobilising citizens to tackle climate change through technology, advocacy and grass-root action.

She firmly believes that when ordinary citizens come together,miracles can happen.
