Martin Harper is BirdLife International’s CEO.  

He has nearly 30 years of experience of conservation leadership.  He has been in the BirdLife community for 20 years (17 years with the UK Partner, the RSPB, where he spent a decade as the Conservation Director before joining the Secretariat in 2021).  He has served on many NGO Boards and is currently a member of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative’s Council.  He was educated at Oxford University and University College London and undertook research in the Comores and Mongolia.
