Extreme Hangout • COP29, Baku

Beth Doherty

I am a recent law graduate of the University of Cambridge and a current LLM candidate at LSE, with a focus on climate and international law and policy.

I have been involved in climate advocacy since 2019, working nationally and internationally on climate justice.During my time at university, I coordinated and delivered a report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child on the links between the climate crisis and children's rights. I have also worked with Global Choices to co-design international agreements to protect the Arctic. I was a COP28 Delegate, advocating for greater protection for the Arctic and an equitable phase out of fossil fuels. I am currently serving as Ireland's Climate Youth Delegate, where I work to involve and consult Irish youth in the work of Ireland's National Climate Delegation to COP29.
